Airheads stars Brendan Fraser, Steve Buscemi, and Adam Sandler. In this movie, Chazz
(Fraser), Rex (Buscemi), and Pip (Sandler) are the lead singer/guitarist, bassist, and drummer
in the band the Lone Rangers. The three have been trying to get a record contract for some
time now, but they have always had a hard time getting their demo tape to record producers. One
day, they find out another local band, the Sons of Thunder, got a record deal thanks to local
radio station Rebel Radio. They then attempt to get the station to play their demo by breaking
into the station and threatening the station manager with plastic guns (that look realistic)
filled with water and hot pepper sauce. However, things go horribly wrong after their demo tape
accidentally gets destroyed while trying to play over the air and a station employee calls the
police on them. The Lone Rangers' attempt to be heard all of a sudden becomes a hostage
situation. On the other hand, the band's hijacking of the radio station draws a huge crowd
around the building, and it even draws the attention of a record company executive. Apparently,
holding a radio station hostage can do more for a band's career than actually playing a demo on
the air.
