Airplane! stars Robert Hays and Julie Hagerty. In this hilarious spoof of disaster
films, Ted Striker (Hays) is an ex-fighter pilot who is now afraid of flying, due to a war
incident. However, he gets over his fear of flying to board an airplane, flying from Los Angeles
to Chicago, in hopes of winning back Elaine Dickinson (Hagerty), the love of his life from the
war, now a stewardess. While in the air, the pilots become ill due to food poisoning from bad
fish served as one of the dishes. Luckily for the airline passengers, Ted did not eat the fish,
and it is up to Ted to safely land the plane, with Elaine as co-pilot. Unfortunately, Ted is
still very afraid of flying, but can he overcome his fear, or is it doom for all the passengers?
Hilarity ensues on the plane and in the Chicago airport control room.
