Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, the sequel to
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery,
stars Mike Myers, Michael York, Heather Graham, Seth Green, and Verne Troyer. Myers, once
again, plays the title character as well as the title character's nemesis, Dr. Evil. He also
plays another character, Fat Bastard, one of Dr. Evil's spies. In this movie, Dr. Evil plans to
steal Austin's "mojo," as he believes Austin's mojo is the reason why Austin always wins
against Dr. Evil. Dr. Evil accomplishes this by building a time machine, traveling back to 1969
(two years after Austin was frozen in the last film), and getting Fat Bastard to pose as a
guard in the British Ministry of Defence, who drills a hole through the ice surrounding Austin
and draining Austin of his mojo. After "rendering Austin powerless," Dr. Evil plans to destroy
the world by setting up a giant laser on the moon and blowing up every city on the planet.
Austin knows when he loses his mojo, and Basil Exposition (York, from the last film) informs
him the British Ministry of Defence has built Austin his own time machine as well, which he
also uses to travel back to 1969.
When Austin gets back to 1969, he meets a CIA spy who is also fighting Dr. Evil, Felicity Shagwell (Graham). After Felicity helps Austin dodge two of Dr. Evil's attempts to assassinate him, the two begin to fall in love, despite Basil's warnings that Felicity cannot get too close to Austin (Austin had been single again ever since his previous love interest, Vanessa Kensington, from the last film, had turned out to be a fembot sent to kill him). However, things get bumpy when Austin finds out his mojo had been stolen and again when he finds out that Felicity slept with Fat Bastard to install a tracking device on him, but they get past those things. Also in this movie, Scott Evil (Green), Dr. Evil's son, decides he wants Dr. Evil in his life after all (as opposed to the last film, when Scott clearly wishes Dr. Evil was not his father), and he tries to learn the family business. However, Dr. Evil has moved on and had a clone of himself created that is 1/8 his size (Troyer). He calls the clone Mini-Me. Throughout the film, Mini-Me shows his disgust toward Scott in various ways, including drawing a hangman with the words "Die Scott" and putting roadkill in Scott's bedsheets. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
