Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure stars Alex Winter, Keanu Reeves, and George Carlin. Winter and Reeves play the title characters, respectively. This movie begins in the year 2688 in
the town of San Dimas, CA, where the music of the Wyld Stallyns, Bill and Ted's band, is the soundtrack to the perfect world. However, the Wyld Stallyns almost didn't happen, because Bill and
Ted, who were two high school students in 1988, were in danger of flunking out of school, and they needed an A+ on their final history report in order to stay in school. If they were kicked
out of school, Ted's dad would have broken them up by sending Ted to military school in Alaska. Rufus travels back in time in a time machine disguised as a phone booth to make sure they get
that A+. The plan: Bill and Ted use the machine to travel through time and round up important historical figures. They start with Napoleon, who they leave in the company of Ted's younger
brother. Other important historical figures they gather are Beethoven, Joan of Arc, Billy the Kid, Genghis Kahn, Socrates, Sigmund Freud, and Abraham Lincoln. Before Bill and Ted do their
report, they decide to show their subjects around the San Dimas of 1988. This does not go well, as they all quickly get arrested due to their inability to blend in with the present day world.
However, Bill and Ted manage to get everyone out of jail, and they get their A+.
