Blades of Glory stars Jon Heder, Will Ferrell, Craig T. Nelson, Will Arnett, Amy
Poehler, and Jenna Fischer. In this movie, figure skaters Jimmy Macelroy (Heder) and Chazz
Michael Michaels (Ferrell) are two rivals who end up sharing a gold medal one year. That is,
they would have if they did not fight on the podium. Their fight on the podium results in both
of them being stripped of their medals and banned for life from skating in their division.
Three and a half years later, Jimmy is working in a sporting goods store, while Chazz is
skating in a children's show, Grublets on Ice. Needless to say, neither one of them is
very happy with what they have moved on to. However, Jimmy gets a visit from his number one
fan, who has still stuck with him even though he'd been banned for life, and is informed that
he is still able to compete in pairs skating. Jimmy then hunts for a female skater to pair up
with, but finds Chazz again, and the two pick up where they left off three and a half years ago
(fighting, that is). Their fight catches the attention of figure skating coach Robert (Nelson),
and he sees potential in them as a pair (there is also no rule against same sex pairs in
skating). Jimmy and Chazz reluctantly agree to skate together, but despite their differences,
they eventually develop a friendship, their different skating styles end up complementing one
another, and they make it to Nationals. Robert has especially wanted a male-male pair because
he believes that only two male skaters can pull off a revolutionary skating move known as the
"Iron Lotus;" Robert had previously tried that with a traditional pair, only to find the
female skater had become decapitated as a result.
