Click stars Adam Sandler, Kate Beckinsale, and Christopher Walken. In this movie, Michael
Newman (Sandler) is an overworked architect who aspires to become partner in the architectural
firm he works for so he can spend more time with his family, especially his wife, Donna
(Beckinsale). Michael also desires a universal remote, because his next door neighbors, the
O'Doyles, whom Michael constantly envies, has one. He finds the ultimate universal remote at
a Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and he gets it for free from Morty (Walken), who is later known to be
an angel of death. This universal remote can literally control the universe around the person
with the remote, such as muting someone, freezing time, going backwards in time (although one
cannot interact with anything in the past, only view it), and fast forwarding time (or one's
own life). Michael has all sorts of fun with the remote, and all is well, until Michael fast
forwards to his promotion to partner of his architectural firm, which was a whole year after
touching the remote (he thought it would be only two months). After this deal, the remote
starts automatically fast forwarding according to Michael's "preferences," and he has no idea
what happens in the period it fast forwards, although everyone else does. Donna especially
notices Michael when he is on "auto pilot" (one is on auto pilot during a fast forward on one's
own life). In fact, one of the things Michael is unaware of in one "fast forward" is he and
Donna divorce (mainly due to Michael concentrating on work every time there is a conflict
between work and family). To make matters worse, Michael does not even know how far ahead in
his life the remote will fast forward - one time in the movie, the remote skipped him ahead ten
years! The remote could fast forward Michael to his death for all he knows. Unfortunately, the
remote is non-returnable and Michael cannot shut the auto fast forward off.
