Employee of the Month stars Dane Cook, Jessica Simpson, and Vax Shepard. In this movie,
Zack Bradley (Cook) is a boxboy at the local "Super Club" who has no ambition to move forward.
However, this changes when he falls for the new cashier, Amy (Simpson). After hearing rumors
that Amy has a thing for the "Employee of the Month," Zack becomes inspired to go for the title,
even if it means having to arrive at work on time, making sure he has no complaints from
customers, having to go above and beyond in his job description, and even giving up hanging out
with his co-workers and good friends in a secret clubhouse in the store. However, his
competition, Vince Downey (Shepard), has won the title for seventeen consecutive months, and he
likes Amy as well. Vince tries everything he can to sabotage Zack's attempts to become Employee
of the Month, resulting in a hilarious series of challenges. At the end, the result is a tie.
Zack realizes he has gone too far when he forgets to cover one of his friends' shifts and gets
him fired, and almost quits. However, he makes up with his friends and they convince him to go
back and try to win the "checkstand ringoff," which is a tiebreaker race to see who can ring up
the same amount of items the fastest. Vince, at first, appears to be the winner, but at the
award ceremony, the security guard replays the contest and reveals a terrible secret about
Vince that he had been hiding for over a year.
