European Vacation stars Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, Jason Lively, and Dana Hill. In
this movie, the Griswold family - Clark (Chase), Ellen (D'Angelo), and kids, Russ (Lively) and
Audrey (Hill) - the characters were originally featured in
Vacation - wins an all-expense-paid trip to
Europe on a game show. The family visits England, France, Germany, and Italy. However, just as
in Vacation, chaos ensues. Incidents include
Clark causing several vehicle accidents due to his constant driving on the wrong side of the
road, getting stuck in a roundabout for hours, knocking down the stones of Stonehenge, and
turning a German folk dance into a street brawl. To top the vacation off, the Griswolds
unknowingly get involved in a plot to hold someone for ransom by transporting the kidnappee in
the trunk of a "replacement rental car." One of the thieves later tries to get the car keys off
of Ellen and ends up kidnapping her as well!
