Ferris Bueller's Day off stars Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck, Mia Sara, and Jeffrey Jones.
Broderick plays the title character, a high school senior. He fakes sick so that he can just
have a day off from school. On this day, he calls up his friend Cameron (Ruck), who is always
sick, and convinces him to take his father's beloved restored 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California
out of the garage so the two can pick up Ferris' girlfriend Sloane (Sara) from school. Ferris
has Cameron impersonate Sloane's father on the phone to falsely inform the school that Sloane's
grandmother has died to get Sloane out of school. The three then have numerous adventures in
the city of Chicago (where they live). Meanwhile, the high school principal, Ed Rooney (Jones),
suspects Ferris is not really sick, and he tries to catch Ferris in the act so he can make
Ferris repeat his senior year of high school.
