Holiday Reunion stars Judge Reinhold, Hallie Todd, Meghan Ory, Calum Worthy, Bryan
Cranston, Penelope Ann Miller, Brittney Irvin, and Reece Thompson. At the beginning of this
movie, Dr. Mitch Snider (Reinhold) wants his family - wife, Jill (Todd); daughter, Allison
(Ory); son, Danny (Worthy) - to do something special for their upcoming Thanksgiving holiday,
to celebrate Mitch "putting Britney Spears to sleep" (Mitch is a famous anesthesiologist). His
opportunity comes up when he receives an invitation to have Thanksgiving with his long-lost
cousin, Woodrow Snider (Cranston). When Mitch's family meets Woodrow's family - wife, Pauline
(Miller); daughter, Twig (Irvin); son, Harley (Thompson) - he finds them to be more than a tad
out of this world - for instance, Woodrow freaks out whenever he hears certain words (such as a
direction or the word "football"), the family keeps several washing machines on their lawn
(with none in the house), Woodrow and Pauline think it's okay to share a bed with Mitch and
Jill, and Harley is obsessed with spiders to the point of putting them in his pants. Mitch's
family tries to leave before staying even one night, and his family tries again the next day,
but Woodrow and Pauline find ways to keep Mitch's family around, to the point of Pauline
"stealing" Mitch's vehicle. However, despite the two families' differences, they find they are
also alike in some ways. For instance, Danny takes up Harley's interest in spiders, after he
learns Harley is trying out for Fear Factor and he thinks it's cool; Allison looks in
Twig's forbidden chest and finds Twig is a closet fashion designer, which leads to Allison's
decision to move to Milan with Twig and study fashion, despite Mitch's objection (Mitch wants
his daughter to become a doctor); Jill takes an interest in Pauline's "role playing" to attempt
to spruce up her love life; Mitch finds out Woodrow is an inventor (who just has yet to be
successful). Mitch and Woodrow also find out they have something else in common - they've both
made bad investments: Woodrow with his inventions, and Mitch with dot-com stocks. In fact,
Mitch had been so ashamed about it, he would not tell even his own family that he's deep in
debt as a result of his bad investments (he wants to keep the impression that they're well off
since he's raking in the money as a famous anesthesiologist); Mitch even manages to hide his
financial situation when Woodrow asks Mitch to loan Woodrow $60,000 so Woodrow won't lose his
house (which was the real reason Woodrow invited Mitch to Thanksgiving).
