Little Nicky stars Adam Sandler, Harvey Kietel, Rhys Ifans, Tom Lister, Jr., Allan Covert,
Peter Dante, Jonathan Loughran, Patricia Arquette, and Robert Smigel. In this movie, Sandler
plays the title character, who is the good-natured son of Satan (Kietel). Satan has two other
sons, Cassius (Lister) and Adrian (Ifans), who are both very much evil and are always torturing
Nicky. Near the beginning of the movie, Satan announces the end of his 10,000 year term as
ruler of hell, and he calls in his three sons to announce who will rule Hell for the next
10,000 years. However, to the shock of Cassius and Adrian (and to the relief of Nicky), Satan
picks himself as the next ruler of Hell, as he does not consider any of his sons fit for the
responsibility of "keeping the balance between good and evil." Cassius and Adrian are so
angered that they jump through the gates of Hell to go to Earth, which freezes the gates of
hell, so no new souls can come through. Without fresh souls, Satan begins to decompose. In
order to keep Satan alive, Cassius and Adrian must return to Hell at the same time. To
accomplish this, someone must go to Earth, trap Cassius' and Adrian's souls in a flask, and
then die holding the flask. Nicky is the only spirit in Hell that has a chance of succeeding at
this, so it is up to him, despite that Cassius and Adrian are much stronger and smarter than he
is. Fortunately, Nicky is not alone. He has the help of Beefy, a talking dog (voiced by Smigel).
He also meets Todd (Covert), an aspiring actor, Peter (Dante) and John (Loughran), two devil
worshipping metalheads, and Valerie (Arquette), a design school student whom with he falls in
love. Together, they seek to hunt down Cassius and Adrian and get the three back to Hell where
they belong.
