Mallrats stars Jason Lee, Jeremy London, Shannon Doherty, and Claire Forlani. At the
beginning of this movie, Brody (Lee) and T.S. (London) are dumped by their girlfriends, Renee
(Doherty) and Brandi (Forlani), respectively, because Brody does not really pay much attention
to Renee, while T.S. is upset that his and Brandi's trip to Florida had to be postponed so she
could star on her father's game show, Truth or Date. Brody suggests the two hang out
at their local mall in order to get over their breakups. When they get to the mall, they find
out that Truth or Date is going to be taped there that very afternoon. The two are
also big comic book fans, and they find out that Stan Lee is signing comic books in their mall.
They also find out that Renee is dating Brody's nemesis, the owner of a men's fashion store in
the mall who hates Brody due to his "lack of a shopping agenda." While T.S. tries to win Brandi
back, Brody initially acts like he doesn't care about Renee, but with the help of Stan Lee
himself, Brody comes around and follows T.S.'s lead. The two come up with a plan to sabotage
the game show so T.S. and Brandi are free to go to Florida, where he plans to propose to her,
and Brody also plans to use the show to win back Renee.
