Pucked stars Jon Bon Jovi, Nora Dunn, David Faustino, Pat Kilbane, and Estella Warren.
In this movie, Frank Hopper (Bon Jovi) is a former lawyer and current "full time dreamer." He
has come up with hundreds of ideas over the years, such as a "boomerang ball", a tofu fast food
chain, and women's professional mall wrestling. However, as a result of his dreaming, he has
never had a real job for at least ten years, and he is living off of his sister, Leona (Dunn),
in exchange for Frank watching his nephew, Nicky. Frank feels he is running out of ideas, until
he is asked by Leona to be a waiter at a formal party, where an accident involving a woman
slipping on spilled ice results in him coming up with a new dream - a world wide women's hockey
league. While Frank is unable to get the backing of his usual investors, he becomes able to
finance his dream when he gets several preapproved credit cards in the mail. He had obtained
these cards by filling out a store survey while shopping for a Christmas present for his
mother, and he wrote down on the survey that he had an annual income of one million dollars
(unaware that it was also a credit card application). His long-time best friend and supporter,
Carl (Faustino), the owner of a home repair shop, becomes Frank's business associate on the
project, and they also enlist the help of Elvis (Kilbane), a seemingly homeless guy who lives
in a run-down ice rink (but is later found to be the owner of the ice rink); the three do
eventually make the ice rink playable for the women. For once, Frank seems to have hit a gold
mine with the women's hockey league, as his first game draws thousands of specators. In the
process, Frank also attracts a beautiful woman named Jessica (Warren), who also happens to be
one of his former law colleagues. However, Frank's luck goes bad again in a hurry when he is
accused of credit card fraud, as Frank had kept transferring balances from one of his credit
cards to the next while waiting for his women's hockey league to generate enough income to pay
off the loans for real as well as pay back Leona for all the support she's given him over the
years. Frank is facing serious jail time, and Jessica, while she has been turned off by Frank's
"criminal intent," agrees to be his lawyer in the trial. However, Frank later fires Jessica and
decides to represent himself, and in the process, Frank reveals the incompetency of the credit
card companies, as they have issued credit cards to other people they should not have, such as
elementary school children and even people's pets!
