Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby stars Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, and Sacha
Baron Cohen. Ferrell plays the title character, who has become the top dog of NASCAR due to his
"win at all costs" attitude. His long time best friend, Cal Naughton, Jr. (Reilly), always
comes in second helping Ricky win, and the two are known as "Shake and Bake." However, Ricky's
reign is challenged by new French Formula One driver Jean Girard (Cohen). Further complications
arise when Ricky gets into a nasty wreck and becomes traumatized. As a result, he cannot drive
fast and gets fired from racing. He also loses his wife and his home to Cal (Cal has done this
partly as revenge for Ricky never allowing him to win a race.). All seems hopeless for Ricky,
as he moves to his mother's home, takes a job as a pizza delivery man, and loses his driver's
license for hitting a cop while driving a truck. However, things start to turn around when
Ricky's father, who had been blowing him off for the past twenty-five years, comes back into
his life and helps Ricky get over his fears so he can drive and race once again.
