Stealing Harvard stars Jason Lee, Tammy Blanchard, Leslie Mann, and Tom Green. Near the
beginning of this movie, John (Lee) finds out that his niece, Noreen (Blanchard), got accepted
into Harvard despite her shortcomings, and he also is reminded of a promise to pay for Noreen's
college education, which requires almost $30,000. John has the money, but he already promised
it to his fiancee, Elaine (Mann), for a down payment on a new house for both of them after they
get married. John turns to his best friend Duff (Green) for advice, despite that his advice is
usually ridiculous. Duff suggests he put $1,000 on a horse with 30-to-one odds, then that John
rob one of Duff's rich landscaping clients. Duff actually talks John into trying to steal from
the rich man by saying his insurance will pay for it, and that the insurance companies deserve
to be ripped off. When that idea does not work for John, John and Duff attempt to rob a liquor
store and con $30,000 out of a drug lord, which do not work either. Eventually, John is forced
to confess the ordeal to Elaine, but, surprisingly, she does not get mad and even finds new
respect for him and actually tries to help John get Noreen her college education without
sacrificing the down payment on the house.
