Still Waiting is the sequel to Waiting
and stars John Michael Higgins and Robert Patrick Benedict. This movie continues with a look at
what the waiters, cooks, and busboys at the fictional Shenaniganz (a parody of the popular
Bennigan's chain) do at work when they're not working, similar to the first movie. However, the
plot involves mainly the manager of Shenaniganz, Dennis (Higgins), trying to fill the recent
opening of district manager, so he can finally "get a woman, get married, and have a kid."
Dennis's prospects for promotion do not look great, though, because his restaurant just isn't
"making the numbers." In fact, he is informed that he must raise $9,000 in one night, or he
will not be promoted. The reason his restaurant's sales stink is because he is competing with
the fictional Hooter's style restaurant, Ta-Ta's Wing Shack, which is part of the Shenaniganz
family, and happens to have a restaurant located right next door to his - what the Ta-Ta's
waitresses, cooks, and busboys do when they're not working is also explored in this film. This
Ta-Ta's is managed by the very confident Calvin (Benedict), who also happened to be a waiter at
a Sheniganz in the previous movie. In order to motivate the Shenaniganz staff to raise the
extra $9,000, Dennis lies to them that the restaurant will close if they do not make $9,000,
and he also tries to appeal to the elderly crowd with "Early Bird Specials," since the elderly
are the least likely to eat at Ta-Ta's.
