Super Troopers stars Jay Chandrasekhar, Erik Stolhanske, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, Kevin
Heffernan, Brian Cox, Daniel von Bargen, and Marisa Coughlan. In this movie, five Vermont state
troopers, known as "Thorny" (Chandrasekhar), "Rabbit" (Stolhanske), Mac (Lemme), Jeff
(Soter), and Rod (Heffernan), are known more for their pranks and having fun on the job than
actual police work. However, they must re-evaluate their practices when Captain John O'Hagen
(Cox) informs them that Vermont is instituting budget cuts, and their station is in danger of
being shut down as a result. Their territories will be covered by local policemen stationed in
the town of Spurbury. The Spurbury police force is headed by Chief Bruce Grady (von Bargen),
and their officers constantly get in fights with the state troopers, which the state troopers
are usually responsible for, further resulting in their chances of being shut down. However,
opportunity strikes for the state troopers when they discover a semi-truck full of marijuana,
and they try to get to the bottom of this to prove to the governor their station is worth
keeping.
