Van Wilder stars Ryan Reynolds, Tara Reid, and Daniel Cosgrove. Reynolds plays the title
character, a Coolidge College student who is in his seventh year and has no plans to graduate.
This upsets his father, who cuts off his tuition, referring to it as a "bad investment." Van
stays in college anyway, as he has made too many friends to leave behind. In fact, he is so
popular, he has his own assistant; he has achieved his status by inspiring the students to
realize their potential and by throwing spectacular parties. He finds he can raise enough money
to stay in college by having others pay him to throw parties.
