Vegas Vacation stars Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo, Ethan Embry, Marisol Nichols, and
Randy Quaid. In this movie, the Griswold family - Clark (Chase), Ellen (D'Angelo), and kids,
Russ (Embry) and Audrey (Nichols) - the characters also appeared in
Vacation,
European Vacation, and
Christmas Vacation - takes a vacation to the
city of Las Vegas, Nevada, despite that Clark is the only person that really wants to go there,
although part of the trip includes a renewal of Clark and Ellen's wedding vows. While in Las
Vegas, they also run into Clark's cousin Eddie (Quaid) and his family, who live on government
property out in the desert north of Las Vegas. The family members do have fun together at the
Hoover Dam, watching a magic show (in which Clark participates), and even watching Wayne Newton.
However, throughout most of the movie, Clark, Ellen, Russ, and Audrey go their separate ways in
pursuit of his or her own fun. Clark becomes addicted to gambling and blows almost all of the
family's money, Ellen visits Wayne Newton's home (Wayne had previously hit on Ellen at the show
the Griswolds attended), Russ gets a fake ID and gambles as well (but unlike Clark, he has a
run of good luck and even wins four cars), and Audrey hangs out with her cousin, and Eddie's
daughter, Vicki, which leads her to a wild night of dancing. Broke, Clark must find a way to
win back his family before it is too late.
